This an ideal image to work from as it is in focus and the dog is looking at you.
This is a poor quality photograph as the image is out of focus and ideally the dog's head should be looking at you.
As I work from photographs, choosing the right image for your portrait is very important. So its worth taking a little time to make your choice. The ideal photograph is one which sums up the very nature and character of your pet. It may be taken at a favourite location, or perhaps include a well loved toy - whatever you feel best captures their personality.
For the best results I require a clear image which is ideally taken at head height in natural daylight. It is important that the image (particularly the eyes) are in sharp focus. High resolution images are preferable, as this will enable me to magnify your photographs so that I can work in minute detail in order to achieve a more accurate portrait of your pet.
If you live within a 20 mile radius of Poole, Dorset I can come out to you to take photographs. For pre-digital photographs I would prefer to use a copy of the original which I can then scan into my computer. I'm always happy to advise upon images sent to me.
Upon confirming the composition I require a 50% deposit (non-returnable) which can be payed via PayPal, cheque, cash or BACS. I will then provide 'work in progress drawings' with a final image sent to you for approval. Once you are completely happy with the portrait I then request the balance of the payment to be made before the portrait is dispatched.
Postage and Packaging is not included in the price and please bear in mind that for any framed work, insurance may be required for postage. I'm happy to discuss individual arrangements before beginning your portrait.
